Practice Profile:
Louise is a family law specialist practitioner acting and with expertise in: public law children work; private law children work including contested contact and residence disputes; injunctive proceedings involving serious domestic violence; and matrimonial finance and related proceedings.

Public Law

Louise represents local authorities, parents, and other family members in care proceedings and placement order applications. She also has experience of the following applications:

• Discharge of a care order
• Contact with children in care
• Residential assessments
• Leave to oppose the making of adoption orders
• Special Guardianship order

Private Law

Louise regularly appears on behalf of parents and other family members in private law children matters. She has experience in the following areas:

• Section 8 CA 1989 orders: child arrangement, prohibited steps and specific issue
• Domestic violence, including applications for non-molestation orders, occupation orders and transfer of tenancy and committal proceedings
• Fact-finding hearings
• Allegations of physical, sexual and emotional abuse
• Drug and alcohol misuse
• Mental health issues
• Enforcement applications
• Removal of child(ren) from jurisdiction

Louise has a particular interest in complex care work and family cases involving autistic children and/or parents.

Matrimonial Finance

Louise has experience with high value cases, including but not limited to: complex business or company structures; private companies and partnerships; inherited or pre-acquired wealth; concealment or dissipation of assets; enforcement; bankruptcy; and pre-nuptial and separation agreements.

Further Professional Information:
Louise previously worked for Royal Dutch Shell before becoming a barrister and this corporate experience helps her to understand more complex company structures in matrimonial finance cases.
