Practice Profile:

Landlord & Tenant and Housing

Thomas has a particular interest in Landlord & Tenant law having been instructed by private landlords, tenants and local authorities in possession proceedings, often involving vulnerable people, disability and discrimination. He is also developing an interest Homelessness following recent instructions.

Personal Injury and Negligence

Thomas is regularly instructed on stage 3 hearings, infant settlement hearings and small claims concerning personal injury and negligence. He has experience of road traffic disputes, including those involving credit hire claims.

Injunctions

Thomas has experience of anti-social behavior injunctions and has been instructed on several emergency gang injunctions in both the County Court and the Youth Court.

Conferences and applications

Thomas often appears in costs and case management conferences, directions hearings and applications.

Before pupillage, Thomas was placed as a Harold G. Fox Scholar at a litigation boutique in Toronto, where he helped prepare various public, constitutional and criminal law matters before the Supreme Court of Canada, the Court of Appeal for Ontario and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice. Before the Bar, he taught Philosophy at the University of Bristol for several years.
