Michelle has a common law background and practices family law. She specialises in childcare, private law children, domestic violence and divorce.
Within care proceedings she is instructed by guardians, local authorities, parents, and kinship carers. Her experience in this field includes instruction in the High Court, in particular in cases involving sexual abuse.
Within the private law sphere she has a particular interest in cases involving child abduction, permission to remove children from the jurisdiction on a temporary or permanent basis, and applications made under the Forced Marriage Act.
Michelle has a great deal of experience in the area of domestic abuse and is instructed in Family Law Act cases and in civil actions brought under the Protection from Harassment Act.
She has a detailed knowledge of the law in relation to divorce and regularly provides written advice as well as advocacy services. She has particular experience of cases involving marriages outside of the jurisdiction.
