Education:
MB BS, BSc (intercalated Pharmacology) from the Medical College of St Bartholomew’s Hospital, MRCGP, FFLM, DCH, DRCOG.
Practice Profile:
Civil, including inquests, personal injury and professional negligence. Fiona has represented families at military inquests, including the Inquest Touching the Death of Captain Daniel Wright, which resulted in several Rule 43's, which have since been all implemented. Also represented the family at in inquest in a RTA, which resulted in a verdict of Unlawful Killing.
Crime, all aspects of criminal defence work, with a special interest in clients with mental health issues, vulnerable clients and cases involving complex expert evidence, particularly medical and pathological.
Further Professional Information:
Fiona was an inner city general practitioner for many years and came to the bar via the Coroner's Court. She is currently an Assistant Deputy Coroner in 4 jurisdictions, and President of the South East of England Coroner’s Society.
Fiona has an active interest in forensics and has recently been elected a member of the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine.
She is a member of Inquest.
Has given lectures and run workshops on coronial law.
