Civil Group
Lamb Building's civil group offers expertise in the key areas of civil law at all levels of practice from the county court to the House of Lords. Our clients include public and local authorities, insurers, small businesses and individuals. We undertake public funded work and can take on cases on a conditional fee basis. The Civil Group has particular strengths in the area of mediation: eleven of our members are accredited mediators. This experience gives them a particular insight into the effective use of this form of ADR. See the Mediation page for more information. Several members of the group are licensed by the Bar Council to accept work directly from members of the public under the direct access scheme.
Through working with a broad range of clients in many different areas of the law, we have developed a proactive approach focused on the client's needs. We work in partnership with our solicitors and clients to find workable and cost-effective solutions to problems. Our service extends beyond advice and advocacy to seminars for both our professional and institutional clients where we can address issues of concern to them as well as providing accredited C.P.D. training to meet the needs of our solicitor clients.
As members of a common law set, our main focus is on court work. All our members have extensive advocacy experience in their chosen fields of practice, and as such are well-equipped to offer both clear advice and effective representation to our clients.
