Sarah Thorne is based in Sussex and has practised primarily in the Crown Courts since pupillage in Lewes in 1996.

Sarah has built up a solid criminal practice having been in Sussex based Chambers and working for Sussex solicitors firms for the majority of her time at the Bar. She undertakes work in all areas of criminal law and has an established specialism in cases involving rape and serious sexual offences, including historical allegations.
Sarah prosecutes and defends across all areas of criminal law. She has comprehensive experience dealing with all types of cases including murder, multi handed conspiracies, serious violence, and drugs.

Sarah is well known for her sensitive handling of people. This approach translates in both defence and prosecution cases. Sarah is experienced in representing clients with mental health problems having regularly dealt with vulnerable defendants often in need of hospital orders.
