Members of the Lamb Building family group have between them a wealth of experience across all elements of finance and divorce, inheritance and family provision, domestic violence and public and private child law. They represent private clients, local authorities, guardians and the Official Solicitor.

The team has extensive experience of all types of finance and divorce cases ranging from those 'big money' claims that regularly involve calculation of business assets, tax and pension benefits to those featuring more modest assets where a thorough appreciation of the principles of benefits and social housing is crucial. Members are adept at tackling issues such as asset dissipation, identification of foreign assets, inheritance, child maintenance and cases involving unmarried couples (TLATA and Schedule 1 CA). Complementary to this, several members of the team have experience of other aspects of family provision – trusts, wills and inheritance disputes.

Equally, team members are routinely instructed in all areas of child law, public and private. Chambers is proud to be a selected supplier of legal services to a number of local authorities and team members regularly undertake work for these clients as well as for parents and children in proceedings for care, adoption, wardship and secure accommodation.

We have extensive experience of all areas of private child law including applications to remove, abduction, contact, injunctive relief, special guardianship, paternity, parental responsibility, specific issues and education (special educational needs and prosecutions for non-attendance).

Members of the team also handle applications for non-molestation and occupation orders including committal hearings for breach and are able to draw on the support and expertise of criminal practitioners within chambers who regularly handle the criminal aspect of such cases. Several of our members are also accredited mediators. For more information, see the Mediation page.
