Charlotte Arundale’s client faced a trial for possession of a bladed article in a public place. The 180mm kitchen knife had been found underneath a seat in the defendant’s vehicle. The Crown’s case was that the defendant had hidden the knife in his car and that it was within easy reach should he need to use it. After just 26 minutes’ deliberation, the jury unanimously acquitted the defendant.
Charlotte was instructed by Alphonsus Doran of Levales Solicitors.
