James Oliveira-Agnew recently secured an acquittal for his client on five counts of sexual activity with a child. His client was a female teaching assistant accused of developing a sexual relationship with a 14-year old female student. The trial lasted nine days and contained a large amount of evidence concerning text messages, multimedia clips, and various letters. James was required to cross examine a number of young witnesses, most of whom were particularly vulnerable due to their circumstances.
The jury deliberated for over six hours and returned unanimous not guilty verdicts on all five counts on the indictment.
The case received a large amount of national press interest due to the unusual nature of the allegations.
